Three explosions were heard in the center of Kiev as the Ukrainian government claimed to have shot down multiple Iranian-made Shahed drones.

Explosions heard in the Ukrainian capital; deployment of emergency teams

Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that ten Shahed drones had been shot down by Ukraine's air defenses, and that emergency services had been deployed to the Shevchenkovskyi neighborhood in the city's center.

"More information to come," he wrote on his Telegram channel. There was no way to independently confirm Klitschko's assertion.

Ukrainian politician Oleksiy Goncharenko tweeted that he heard three explosions at 6:30 a.m. local time (04:30 GMT).

The air-raid alert sounded at 5:55 a.m. (03:55 GMT), and inhabitants are advised to remain in shelters until further notice.

"Ukrainians are not awakened by alarm clocks but by explosives," Goncharenko wrote. "Thanks to Russia, our neighbor! "Good morning, everyone!"

Kyiv Oblast governor Oleksiy Kuleba stated that air defense systems were activated and "striking targets."

The explosions occurred as Ukraine asked its allies to assist it with more advanced air defence systems to help it shoot down Russian missiles and drones that have destroyed the country's energy infrastructure and left millions of people without heat during the brutal winter.

Other places facing "extremely severe" power supply conditions, according to Zelenskyy, include the capital Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as four regions in western Ukraine and the Dnipropetrovsk region in the country's center.

On Tuesday, it was reported that the United States was finalizing arrangements to deploy Ukraine its advanced Patriot air defense system.

Brazil's Federal Revenue Requires Citizens To Pay Taxes On Crypto Trades

The Federal Revenue of Brazil wants investors to pay taxes on cryptocurrency trading profits, even if there is no exchange for Brazil's national currency. Brazil's Federal Reserve (RFB) has declared that Brazilian investors in the crypto-asset market must pay income tax on transactions that involve the like-kind exchange of cryptocurrencies; for example, Bitcoin (BTC) for Ethereum (ETH). The RFB's declaration was published in the Diário Oficial da União and was the result of a consultation made by a citizen of the country with the regulator.  At the end of last year, the group issued an opinion in which it claimed that trading between cryptocurrency pairs is taxable even if there is no conversion to the real (Brazil's national currency). Although it does not specify what can be understood as "profit," since in the exchange of one crypto asset for another there is no capital gain in fiat currency, it points out that there is, even so, the obligation to pay t...

The Neilston Gas Station Offering Locals Low

John Robb of John Robb & Son in Neilston, East Renfrewshire, is offering unleaded gasoline for 168.9 pence per liter and diesel for 183.9 pence per liter, which are among the lowest prices in the region. He claims that his company is doing so to alleviate locals' concerns about poverty. Major retailers have been criticized for failing to pass on a decrease in wholesale prices to consumers. According to the RAC, average gasoline pump prices decreased by nearly 9p in July to 182.69p per litre, while diesel prices decreased by nearly 7p to 192.38p per litre. However, the motoring lobby contends that motorists continue to spend too much at the pump in comparison to wholesale costs, which have decreased by 20p over the past eight weeks. It is stated that the price of gasoline should be approximately 167 pence per liter. Mr. Robb quickly lowered his gasoline and diesel pricing to reflect the most recent weekly wholesale cost. When asked why he did not delay price cuts like other larg...
